ChildLine at Epsom Derby – a sure bet for local children

ChildLine, the UK’s free, 24 hour, confidential telephone helpline for children in need, will be moving into the fast track at Epsom Downs Racecourse, where the grass is definitely greener! Guests will be invited to experience the action at close quarters on Saturday June 2 as they enjoy superb corporate hospitality on the bend of the famous Tattenham Corner.

The day will commence with a Pimms reception, followed by a three course meal, complimentary bar and a great afternoon of racing – all in aid of the charity ChildLine. In addition to watching the horses thunder into the finishing straight, guests will be invited to enjoy a host of exciting fundraising activities.

The Derby Day will offer the chance to win some fantastic prizes such as the Harry Potter themed Fan Trip. Kindly donated by Beyond Boundaries Travel, a family of 4 will win the unique opportunity to board the original train featured in the Harry Potter films, before they are taken on a magical journey through the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The Derby’s most exclusive raffle prize is a stunning coloured diamond worth £1,700. The ethically created diamond was generously donated by Heart Diamond UK who produces the unique personalised “Heart Diamond”, created using a person’s DNA.

The money raised through the Derby Day will be used to maintain the vital service that ChildLine provides through its 11 counselling centres across the UK. Every day calls from around 2,500 children are answered by ChildLine counsellors, however the enormous demand for the service means that hundreds more children are unable to get through. This year ChildLine needs to raise £20 million to help another 1,000 children every day and to keep helping the 2,500 we help already. All of this money has to be raised from scratch, and 90% of this income is raised from individuals, communities and companies.
